MoTeC provides a number of advanced tools to assist users in logging vast amounts of information and analyzing this quickly and efficiently. Data can be collected via the MoTeC Dash/Logger or ECU's internal log memory, by radio telemetry or by direct connection. Huge amounts of information can be collected in this way.
The information contained within the log files can be viewed numerically or can be shown in a graphical format. This ability to take numeric data and render it graphically is a powerful tool for understanding the interrelationships contained within the data. An entire log can be viewed graphically over time and then expanded to show, second by second, relationships between the chosen parameters. To analyze mixture strength versus RPM and load, a scatter plot chart of air/fuel ratio can be displayed. To improve the efficiency of the tuning process an RPM histogram shows the relative time spent at any one rpm so that effort may be concentrated upon the areas where the engine spends the most time. The statistics screen shows a summary of the logged session, the time spent over user-defined thresholds of engine RPM and water temperature, occurrences of diagnostic errors and their duration.
